Br. Jackson essentially said that takfir cannot be made on homosexuals (i assume he meant that as a default position takfir cannot be made on them); but that there is no place to admit homosexuality as a practice acceptable to God.
However, in his answer, he steered the question away from the fact that sodomy is a crime which the Prophet punished (at least on occasion) with the death penalty. And so it’s not so much an issue that gay Muslims cannot be Muslims or that homosexuality cannot be conceded as acceptable to God, but that gay Muslims risk forfeiting their lives – that is, giving up the right to life – by their engaging in homosexual acts. With this in mind, one could, i suppose ask again: is there a place in Islam for gay Muslims?
