The Arab Spring, Islam, and the Islamophobe Hypocrisy
Posted: October 7, 2011 Filed under: Islamophobia, Militant Secularism 8 Comments »With the recent Arab Spring (that is still taking place) we have seen the true vile face of the Islamophobic crowd, the likes of Robert Spencer, Pamella Geller, and the rest of the known gang. Since the start of this historical period, these writers and speakers have been opposed to any Arab Spring, they have been fueling constant negative propaganda about these revolutions to try to paint them as something bad and evil. Now what is the Arab Spring all about anyway? It’s simply a people who are tired of living under a repressive regime and want change, a change that will better the future of society for themselves and their children, so who in their right mind would stand against this right?
As much as these Islamophobes love to talk about human rights, dignity, and freedom, they don’t actually believe any of these principals and values should apply to Muslims. When they talk about freedom, they only mean freedom for themselves, obviously not freedom for Muslims, freedom for Muslims to run their own society in a way they see fit that is free from repression and filled with prosperity. After all if I am wrong, then why didn’t they support the Arab Spring? Why were they the first to go on the front lines explicitly speaking against the Arab Spring, a revolution for freedom?
A lot of these Islamophobes are worried that these Arab Springs will turn the effected states into Islamic states, for example they can’t stop talking about the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, the largest and oldest Islamist political group within Egypt and the Muslim world. They have a major fear that the MB will gain power within Egypt, and will then turn the state into an Islamist state, i.e. an Islamic state that will be run by Shariah Law. Now here comes the glaring hypocrisy of these Islamophobes, many of these Islamophobes often rant about Muslims who don’t respect their western countries, Muslims who don’t respect the laws, culture and ways of western countries. They even harp on about how Muslims supposedly want to change western society in place of a society that is more Muslim-Islamic orientated, and so they say that this is a grave insult, and that Muslims need to respect the western cultural values and ways or get out.
So if Islamophobes truly believe in this principal, then why don’t they follow their own medicine? If Muslims should respect western countries and their laws and values, then by the same token Islamophobes should also respect Muslim countries and their laws and values and they should also not try to interfere or change them. So therefore if the Muslims do want Islam in their country, i.e. an Islamic state, that is run by the Muslim Brotherhood, then Islamophobes need to respect and accept it, after all this isn’t their country, Egypt is not the west, it is a Muslim country, so therefore Muslims can run their country as to how they see fit in accordance with their traditional values, just as Islamophobes tell us about their own countries!
Yet it sadly seems that the Islamophobes do not want to follow what they preach, when it comes to Muslim countries, they do not want to respect the feelings and opinions of the Muslims, if Muslims want Islam and Shariah Law, Islamophobes will be the first ones shouting and howling saying this is something terrible and something that must be opposed. This is precisely why they have been against the Arab Spring since day 1, because they are in fear that this may happen. So this shows you the glaring hypocrisy of these Islamophobes, they could care less about respecting one another’s countries and laws, Islamophobes simply want it all their way. Islamophobes are imperialists plain and simple, they simply want their ways, and their ideology in the Muslim world. If there is an ideology and way of life that is different to their Islamophobic world view, then they will stand in opposition to it, just like they have done with the Arab Spring. In fact the Islamophobes have shown that they are willing to support brutal dictatorships as long as this keeps Islam out of society! So if you’re a Muslim living in your own Muslim country, and you may want Islamic law or Shariah, Islamophobes will fully support your repression just because they are completely opposed to those concepts. So Islamophobes aren’t simply happy on telling Muslims how to live in the western world, they now want to tell Muslims how to live in their own Muslim country, they now want to tell Muslims even if you want Islam in the Muslim world we will not accept it!
You can see this for yourself; anytime a Muslim calls for Shariah IN THE MUSLIM WORLD these Islamophobes go nuts about it, but why? It’s in the Muslim world, it’s not their country, it’s not their land, so why are they so angry about it, what happened to respecting each other’s countries? As I said they are hypocrites, they are imperialists, cultural imperialists of the worst kind who want to force their ways unto everyone else.

Fortunately the Islamophobes are few in number, an extremist minority, and the vast majority of people support the Arab nation’s desire for greater politcal and personal freedoms. Most, if not all, of the western nations have sided with the people in these “revolutions for freedom” of the Arab Spring. I think the best we can do is listen to the aspirations of those people, which has on the whole been a desire for democracy. If there is a movement or movements which follows the succesfull overthrow of repressive regimes, movements which differ from the motives of the Arab Spring, and movements which havebeen seen to develop oppressive regimes in the past, then it would not be hypocritical for the supporters of the Arab Spring uprisings to oppose regimes which do not deliver on the revolutionary motives and aspirations.

‘islamaphobe’ isnt a word, its a divertion tactic used by muslims to try and divert issue from those talking sense. Let me tell you something. I have read lots and lots about Islam, and lots of ‘advice’ foreign pages for muslims emigrating to the west. No where does it tell muslims to respect the west and our ways, just constant of telling them to spread islam and talking about us in a disrespectful manner, like we are animals. We dont want this in this country, which we are the majority of it, and that isnt going to change. We arnt daft, we know Islam is a load of crap and we dont believe it and never will. The attitude from many muslims is disgusting (not all, mostly those in large muslim areas that cant speak english. For this to work you HAVE to integrate and abandon this nazi idea of taking over the world. its horrible, abhorrent and why7 a lot of westerners hate you. We have adapted to have you in our country, building your mosques, treating us like crap because we arnt muslims, you have some respect for the country thats giving you a better life and respect us, because trust me we arnt going down without a fight. from what iv read, many muslims severely underestimate how much liberal and western values and culture means to us. We have fought for years to get equal rights, and we wont give them up. No backward sharia here, and if you think it will happen your in for a surprise.

Btw, for someone complaining about others who can’t speak English, you do a very poor job of coherently writing in the English language! Maybe you should start looking in the mirror first before complaining about others?
And let’s also test you, without googling, can you please name me some of the intellectual names responsible for the great traditonal-cultural-liberal-western values you speak of? The men responsible for these ideas and thoughts that you love to ascribe to. And please give me the dates for when these men wrote about these ideas and thoughts, as well as the name of publication (books, memoirs, article etc). Obviously you can cheat, but that doesn’t matter, what does matter is that at least YOU PERSONALLY will know how full of crap you truly are. And that’s the main point, to show how ignorant you are of you’re own traditions and what have you, so before you want to complain about others, and tell others to respect the traditions and values you claim you will ‘fight’ for, maybe you need to start learning a bit about it eh?
Secondly, don’t come here talking to me like you have given me anything, because you haven’t given me JACK-SHIT, so pipe down missy. Everything I have is from my father who worked very hard, got an education, and then looked after his family, and that’s from where I have everything, not from you, or you’re ‘people’, or you’re government, or whoever else you want to name, so don’t come condescendingly talking down to me like I owe you something, understood? I don’t owe you NOTHING, and I never will owe you anything, you got that? I’m not you’re slave, you’re not my master, you don’t do nothing from me, so get off that high over inflated ego you and you’re stupid friends have built for yourselves and come back down to earth and realise you are nobodies who have done nothing for anybody else, rather you are like leeches who try to feel good about yourselves and you’re own failures by leeching onto others pretending that it was you who gave them what they have and why they are where they are today, it makes you feel better, but sorry missy, time to come out of lala land and into reality land.
