Part 2 of our MDI debate at London Central Mosque: Salvation in Christianity and Islam
Posted: December 14, 2011 Filed under: articles by Paul Williams, Christianity, Debates, Islam, The Bible, Videos 3 Comments »Part 2 is now out. It records the rebuttals and the Q & A session.
It took place at the prestigious London Central Mosque on 4th December 2011.
Speakers:
Rev Dr Steve Latham, Director for Continuing Ministerial Development at Spurgeons College, London (a Christian Seminary)
Paul Williams, Director of Muslim Debate Initiative
In my view this was an excellent debate and showcased how MDI hosts, moderates and conducts its debates in a respectful and intellectually rigorous manner.

Salamoalaikum wr wb,
In Matthew 18, the excerpt to which Bro. Paul kept appealing, goes on length to explain the “mechanism” how sin can be forgiven and subsequently salvation be attained yet Dr. Letham begs on forgiveness through the death of Christ (peace be upon him) which was no where to be present in the parable.
I think Jesus’ (peace be upon him) parable was too complex to elucidate the “mechanism”.
sincerely,
Q.M.
the Messiah will make a sin-offering FOR himself, not of himself, AND also for ALL the people of Israel:
Ezekiel 45:22(JPT) – And the prince shall make on that day for himself and for all the people of Israel a bull for a sin-offering.
The Messiah will make this sacrificial sin-offering on behalf of himself and his people
sin offering is a mitzvah
it has specific requirements
and one of those is that the one offering one for himself needs to have done something that requires it, otherwise not only is he doing the mitzvah in vain, he is actually committing a sin, namely, the killing of an animal for nothing – violating the mitzvah of tza’ar ba’alei chayim.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH
christianity doomed
This debate shows why the Muslims in the U.K are so proud of Paul Williams.
He takes it to a whole new level and for those interested in Dawah to Christians or simply in Christianity in general this debate is a great resource.
He has also done a great discussion on the concept of ‘Englishness’ against a member of a far right political party here in the U.K which shows his range as debater/ideas man.
Frankly, Muslims in the U.K need to see more of this guy so that they can raise the Dawah to the kind of level he’s at, both in terms of knowledge and delivery.
