In order to save themselves the embarrassment of defending such ‘difficult to digest’ doctrines, some Christians have begun in recent times to try and show that Islam also teaches these doctrines. Below are some links, which refute such laughable allegations:
One would notice how these Christians either misinterpret our scripture or pass off red herrings. For instance, the specific objection Muslims put forward towards Christians is that Islam opposes that one would be accountable for the sins of others in the sense that the moral guilt is transferred from the guilty to the innocent because it’s simply unjust.
What some of these polemicists slyly try to do is show examples where Allah might destroy a whole village filled with evil people and then argue “You see? Allah sent an earthly punishment in which innocents have suffered due to the evil actions of others”.
How on earth is this analogous to the atonement is simply beyond me. Allah sends tribulations to innocents in this life for different reasons as laid out in scripture. No where is it mentioned that the moral guilt has been transferred to those innocents. This is more related to the infamous ‘problem of evil’. It has NO RELATION to the atonement!
Whether these are intentional deceptive tactics being employed or merely a demonstration of just how incompetent these polemicists are, our Muslim readers could sympathize with the frustration Muslim apologists need to endure when addressing these critics.
